Here is the part that trips people up before they call: hot stone massage in Flower Mound is not a separate line on our menu with its own price. Warm stones are included in every therapeutic massage, at both spas. A session built entirely around the stones is arranged by phone — call (972) 539-1388.
So the number you want is the therapeutic massage price, and it differs by spa. In Flower Mound: $55 for 30 minutes, $75 for 45, $100 for 60 and $135 for 90. At Colleyville, where the whole menu runs higher: $65 for 30 minutes, $130 for 60 and $160 for 90. Stones are not an upcharge at either.
Stones are where our name comes from, which is a fair thing to hold us to. Below: what a session feels like, what the stones are, and who should talk to a physician first.
What a hot stone massage actually is
A therapist warms smooth stones, lays some along your back, and keeps others in their hands as an extension of the massage itself. Heat does two useful things. It gives tight muscle a reason to let go before any real pressure arrives, and it lets your therapist get into a locked-up shoulder or a stiff low back with less force.
That second point is the one that matters. Hot stone work is not a softer, less serious massage. It is a way of reaching deep tension without leaning on it. If firm pressure makes you brace — and bracing undoes most of what an hour on the table is for — this is the version you want.
What are massage stones made of?
Basalt, in nearly every professional practice. Basalt is a volcanic rock: dense, smooth, no sharp grain, and it holds heat steadily instead of giving it all up at once. That last property is the whole reason it gets used. Stones are tumbled smooth and come in several sizes, from large flat ones for the back down to small ones for the spine and toes.
They are warmed and temperature-checked before they touch you, and the feeling you are after is a hot bath, not a burn. Heat tolerance is personal, so say something the second a stone feels too warm. Your therapist expects that. Ask to see the stones before you lie down if you are curious.
What happens in a 60 or 90 minute session
You talk first. Your therapist asks where it hurts, what you do all day, what has changed since last time, and how much pressure you genuinely like. Short conversation, big difference. If this is your first time with us, our first visit page covers arriving and intake.
Then warm stones go along your back while the therapist starts somewhere else — often the shoulders, often the feet — so the heat has time to work first. From there it moves the way any focused therapeutic massage moves: broad work, then real time in the two or three places that need it, stones passing in and out of the therapist’s hands throughout.
Sixty minutes covers your back, shoulders, neck and one other area properly. Ninety is the honest choice if you have more than one problem area, or if you want a hip or a low back worked rather than passed over. The 30 and 45-minute sessions are targeted by design, usually neck, shoulders and upper back.
Afterwards you will feel warm and slow, in a good way. Drink water, skip anything that needs sharp thinking, and give yourself the evening.
What a hot stone massage in Flower Mound or Colleyville costs
Because the stones travel with the therapeutic massage, this is the price list you want. Hot stone massage in Colleyville works exactly the same way — the stones come with the session — but the menu there runs higher.
| Session length | Flower Mound | Colleyville |
|---|---|---|
| 30 minutes | $55 | $65 |
| 45 minutes | $75 | Not offered |
| 60 minutes | $100 | $130 |
| 90 minutes | $135 | $160 |
A stone-led session — one built around the stones rather than folded into a therapeutic massage — is set up by phone. Call (972) 539-1388 and tell us what you are after. There is more on our hot stone massage page, and the full menu for both spas sits on the pricing page.
Who it suits, and who should ask a physician first
It suits people who hold tension across big areas — upper back, shoulders, hips — and who do not enjoy being dug into. It suits people who run cold, people who seize up every winter, and people whose “I just need to relax” is sincere rather than a polite way of saying “please fix my neck.”
It also suits anyone who has tried a firm massage, tensed against it for an hour, and left sore and unconvinced. Heat gets you most of the way there without the fight.
Talk to your physician before booking heat-based bodywork if any of these apply:
- You are pregnant or recently gave birth
- You have reduced sensation in your skin, including from diabetes or neuropathy
- You take blood thinners, or you bruise very easily
- You are managing a heart condition or your blood pressure
- You have a skin condition, open wound, rash or recent burn where we would be working
- You have had recent surgery, or an injury that is still acute
None of that means the answer is no. It means ask first, then tell us when you book so your therapist can plan around it. If you are pregnant, prenatal massage is the service built for you, cleared by your OB or midwife first.
Where to find us, and when we are open
We are at 2900 Long Prairie Rd, Suite C, Flower Mound, TX 75022, on Long Prairie Rd (FM 2499), open Wednesday through Monday, 10 AM to 8 PM, closed Tuesdays. Directions are on the Flower Mound location page.
Our second spa is at 4906 Colleyville Blvd, Suite 200, Colleyville, TX 76034 — on Hwy 26, next to Walmart — open Wednesday through Saturday and Monday, 10 AM to 8 PM, closed Sundays and Tuesdays. Full details are on the Colleyville location page.
One thing worth saying plainly: a hot stone massage supports relaxation and general comfort. It is complementary care, not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. If you are pregnant or managing a medical condition, check with your physician before you book.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a hot stone massage cost at High Stone?
There is no separate hot stone price. Warm stones come with every therapeutic massage, so the price is the therapeutic massage price: $55 for 30 minutes, $75 for 45, $100 for 60 and $135 for 90 in Flower Mound; $65, $130 and $160 for 30, 60 and 90 minutes at Colleyville. A stone-led session is arranged by calling (972) 539-1388.
What are hot massage stones made of?
Basalt, in nearly every professional practice. It is a smooth, dense volcanic rock that holds heat evenly and for a long time, which is exactly what you want against skin. Stones are tumbled smooth and come in several sizes, from large flat ones for the back down to small ones for the toes.
Can I add hot stones to a Full Body Massage?
Stones come with the therapeutic massage, which is the tier above the Full Body Massage on our menu. If you have already booked a Full Body Massage and want the stones, call (972) 539-1388 before your appointment and we will tell you what is possible on the day.
Will the stones be too hot?
They should not be. Stones are warmed and temperature-checked before they go anywhere near you, and the target sensation is a hot bath rather than anything sharp. Heat tolerance varies a lot between people, so speak up the moment one feels too warm. Nobody minds, and it is fixed in seconds.
Should I book 60 or 90 minutes?
Sixty minutes is enough for your back, shoulders and neck plus one other area. Choose 90 if you have more than one problem area, or want a hip or low back given real time instead of a pass-through. The 30 and 45-minute sessions are targeted rather than short versions of the hour.
Can I have a hot stone massage while pregnant?
Check with your OB or midwife first, and tell us when you book. Prenatal and postnatal massage is its own service at both spas, designed around side-lying positioning and priced from $100 for 60 minutes. If you have clearance and still want heat involved, call and ask before booking online.
If the idea of a deep, unhurried hour without anyone leaning hard on your back sounds about right, book a therapeutic massage online at either spa. The stones come with it.
