The salt room at our Flower Mound spa is $39.95 a session. You sit in a quiet room and breathe air carrying a fine, dry salt mist. There is nothing to hold, nothing applied to your skin, and nothing you have to do. That is the whole of it.
Halotherapy, which is the proper name for it, is complementary care. Guests often tell us the room is calming and that their breathing feels easier when they leave. It is not a treatment for asthma, allergies or any other condition, and nobody here is going to tell you it is.
One thing to get right before you plan a visit: salt therapy is a Flower Mound service only. Our Colleyville spa does not have a salt room. Here is what the session involves, what it costs, and what is worth asking on the phone first.
What halotherapy actually is
Halo is the Greek word for salt. Halotherapy means spending time in a room where finely ground dry salt is dispersed into the air, so you breathe it in along with everything else. The salt is dry rather than steam, so the room does not feel humid or heavy. Some people notice a faint salty taste afterwards. Some notice nothing at all.
The idea traces back to salt miners in Eastern Europe and the underground salt caves people have visited there for generations. A modern salt room is the indoor version. When people search for a salt cave near Dallas, a salt room is usually what they find, and usually what they meant.
What a salt room session in Flower Mound feels like
You stay dressed. Nobody works on you. There is no table, no oil, no pressure and no conversation you have to keep up. You sit, you breathe, and the session runs its course.
Most people take a few minutes to settle. The opening stretch is the restless part, the bit where you remember your inbox. After that, guests describe it in consistent ways: quiet, slow, a little like sitting outside early in the morning. Some close their eyes. Some fall asleep. Some just sit, which for a lot of people is the point.
Session length can vary, so we will not print a number here that might not match the session you book. Call ahead and we will tell you what works.
What salt therapy can and cannot do
This is where wellness marketing usually overreaches, so here is the honest version. Salt therapy has a long history of use and there is genuine interest in it, but the research is thin: small studies, short follow-up, mixed results. There is not enough good evidence to say halotherapy treats any respiratory or skin condition, and we will not pretend otherwise to sell a $39.95 session.
What we can tell you is what guests report. Many find the room calming in a way a quiet living room is not, because there is nothing in it to do. Many say their breathing feels easier on the way out. Those are real experiences, and worth the price to plenty of people. They are not medical outcomes.
What it costs, and what else is $39.95
A salt therapy session is $39.95. Two other therapies on the same wellness menu are priced identically, which makes the choice easier if you are picking one thing to try.
| Flower Mound wellness therapy | Price | At Colleyville? |
|---|---|---|
| Salt therapy (halotherapy) | $39.95 | No |
| Red light therapy | $39.95 | No |
| Infrared sauna | $39.95 | No |
| Reflexology, 30 minutes | $45 | Yes, $55 |
A note for regulars. Our monthly membership plans are built around massage, facials and reflexology, so a plan credit is not the same thing as a salt room session. Member discounts do apply while a membership is active, so if you are already in once a month, ask what your rate on salt therapy would be.
Why the salt room is Flower Mound only
We run two spas and they are not identical. Salt therapy, red light therapy, the infrared sauna and homeopathy consultations are all at our Flower Mound spa, 2900 Long Prairie Rd, Suite C, on FM 2499. Whole-body cryotherapy is the one you will only find at our Colleyville spa. All massage, all facials, reflexology, shirodhara, neuropathy care and weight-loss support run at both.
The spa is open Wednesday through Monday, 10 AM to 8 PM, and closed Tuesdays. If you are coming from Lewisville, Highland Village or Grapevine it is a short drive, and the salt therapy page carries the current details.
Pairing salt therapy with a massage
Most guests who come back book the salt room around something else rather than on its own. It works either way, and the order is up to you.
- Salt room first. Arrive early, sit, slow down, and walk into your massage already settled. Therapists can usually tell.
- Massage first. Finish the visit sitting still rather than walking straight back out to Long Prairie Road.
- On its own. At $39.95 with nothing to prepare, it is an easy first visit if you have never booked a spa appointment before.
What to ask when you call ahead
There are a few practical details we would rather tell you directly than post on a page that could go stale. Call (972) 539-1388 and ask about any of these before you book.
- How long the session runs on the day you want to come in
- What to wear, and whether you need to bring anything
- Whether the session you want is shared or on your own
- Whether children can join you, and from what age
- Whether you can take your phone in
- Whether we can line the salt room up back to back with a massage or facial
It is a thirty-second call and it saves you guessing. Worth saying plainly: salt therapy at High Stone supports relaxation and general wellness. It is complementary care, not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. If you are pregnant or managing a medical condition, particularly a respiratory one, check with your physician before you book.
Frequently asked questions
What is halotherapy?
Halotherapy is dry salt therapy. You sit in a room where finely ground salt is dispersed into the air and breathe normally for the length of the session. No steam, no water, nothing applied to your skin. People also call it a salt room or a salt cave. At High Stone it is $39.95.
How much does the salt room cost?
A salt therapy session is $39.95. Red light therapy and the infrared sauna are the same price, and all three are Flower Mound services. If you would like to combine salt therapy with a massage or a facial in one visit, tell us when you book and we will arrange the timing.
Does salt therapy help with allergies or asthma?
We will not claim that it does. The research on halotherapy is limited and the results are mixed, so it cannot honestly be described as a treatment for allergies, asthma or anything else. What guests tell us is that the room is calming and their breathing feels easier afterwards. If you are managing a respiratory condition, follow your physician’s guidance and treat salt therapy as complementary.
Is there a salt cave near Dallas?
Salt cave and salt room usually mean the same thing in practice: an indoor room set up for dry salt therapy. Ours is on Long Prairie Road in Flower Mound, a short drive from Lewisville, Highland Village and Grapevine, and reachable from most of the north-west side of the Metroplex. Sessions are $39.95.
How long is a salt room session?
Session length can vary, so rather than print a number that might not match what you book, call us and we will tell you what works for that session. It is a short call, and it means you can plan the afternoon around it, which matters most if you want a massage on the same visit.
Can I do salt therapy and a massage on the same visit?
Yes, and plenty of guests do. Some prefer the salt room first so they reach the table already settled. Others like finishing the visit sitting quietly. Tell us what you want when you book and we will line the two up back to back. Both run at the same spa, where the full massage and facial menu is available.
If a quiet room and nothing to do sounds like the right shape for part of your week, salt therapy is $39.95 and there is nothing to prepare. Book a salt room session, and call us first if you want the practical details settled before you do.
